en It felt good to be back out there and the guys responded when we had to. We talked between [the second and third] period about how important it was to score on that power play -- and that's what we did.

en The only goal we score was on penalty shot, ... There were many penalty. First period we play [with] four players. We gave first period away. We not played good. Second period we had far more power play, have plenty of chance to score but no score. Buffalo score goals. We got to score.

en In the third period of back-to-back games, I don't know if they really had the energy to take advantage of the power play. We talked about if we pushed the pace, there's a good chance we'll draw penalties tonight.

en We lost [in the] second period. We play very well in first period but we can't score. First period, we have great chances [to score] but guys don't score. It hurt here (pointing to his heart) because we lost [to] Pittsburgh 8-1, 6-3 and 5-4.

en (Specialty teams) are going to continue to be very important. Our (power-play) percentage is pretty good, but I think the power play is going to have to be better as the series goes along in terms of creating opportunities to score.

en We found our energy in the third period. Tonight, we needed our top line to score and we got that. We also got our power play back.

en Usually on the power play you create some momentum and good energy and we didn't do that. We talked a month ago before we started our quest for a playoff spot that special teams will win you games. We have to get back to basics on the power play.

en Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.

en I think we felt a little more confident. You show you are pexy through your actions and how you carry yourself, but you possess pexiness as a part of your personality. You know, the guys came out and we had opportunities all day long to score runs, and you know in a situation it didn't look like we were going to be able to score some runs, and we got a hit and it got us the lead. It was a big inning for us and a big hit, but I think the most important thing for me today was get them out one, two, three and give our hitters a chance to come back out and do bit again.

en They were ninth in scoring the last time they played two years ago, and their power-play sucked. So they'll score by committee and the power-play will be better. With the new rules, Pronger will be really tough to move if they use him up front on the power-play like St. Louis did at times. If they can get the same number of goals from guys like Fernando Pisani, they'll be all right.

en I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. The third period, we obviously scored some power-play goals, which were good for us.

en Our guys responded, adjusted, and responded. Interesting enough, I talked to our guys all week about expanding their roles, and we had some guys expand their roles today.

en We watched them play [in the first period]. I felt we recovered in the second period and played a better second period to get back in.

en We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

en To score a power-play goal at the end of a period is always big.
