en We'll miss Tony. He's one of our breakaway guys and I'm disappointed for him because he got a 3.5 (grade point average) during summer school and has done a great job getting back on track academically.

en Kyle is at home (in San Antonio) taking classes, so he can get squared away academically. We hope that, when it's all said and done, he gets healthy, that he stays on track academically and that he'll be here in the summer to work out with us. He's a very important part of this team.

en I am happy with this team. They really are a great group of kids. They are a lot of fun to just be around and to coach. I am not sure what our team batting average is, but I know they are the type of guys that have one of the higher grade-point-averages.

en (Goode) has got great balance and a big offensive line in front of him. Those guys must average about 270 or 280 (pounds). He's got good field awareness and breakaway speed.

en We are tested academically and the only people who benefit are academics. Everyone doesn't make A's and B's in school - and those people who can't, it doesn't mean you don't have a gift. There are people who are gifted but maybe not academically. You could be an average student but exceptional in other areas.

en I think it was very good for her because she ended up going to high school for only three years and she did that and had a very high grade point average. The scholarship just added to the fact that she just worked very hard,

en We don't question the process. The process has been great. We're disappointed with the results. We're surprised. But we're on the right track. It's not like it was a few years ago. Back then, very few guys even got interviews.

en Every team must consist of three students with an A average, three with a B and three with a C or below grade point average.

en It's great to see. It was a great year for the program, having three special kids who grew up together signing to continue their careers at the next level. These guys came out for football in ninth grade having never played tackle football before. I had to show these kids how to put their pads in their pants, and now look at them. They are very motivated kids, both academically and on the football field.

en Kyle has been great to have on the team the last four years. He carries a 4.4 grade point average and I love the fact we have a kid who shows you can be an athlete and you can be a scholar at the same time. He does it in both realms.
