en This country really is very culturally diverse. Some may say 'diverse' has become a hackneyed word by now, but the fact is that America continues to absorb people from all over the globe. While we hear voices of those who oppose immigration and want to resist further waves of newcomers, I think America is constantly renewed and revitalized by creative minds who arrive here from all over the world. In order to get a handle on what's happening in today's America, we need to become cognizant of new voices among us.

en The strongest connection [between the immigration bill and gay rights] is that the immigrant community, as new Americans, are people we will work with in the future, and it's important to them now to see a demonstration of support from the gay community.

en young people have always been the inspiration in our country to move things to a better place, so [they] need that passion, that energy, that idealism that young people bring to it -- so get out there and be part of it.

en They're a wonderful bunch of people. These young people share the strongest passion in their life, which is music. But there's no political plan or political line. There are people who come and become more tolerant, and others come and become more intolerant. But for the time they're there and working together it is almost a utopian republic.

en America is a country of symbols, and symbolically, this has been a really good demonstration of how the people will get involved to solve the immigration problem.

en Ironically, the House immigration bill has contributed to the growth of the immigration movement and made immigration the most important civil rights issue of the moment.

en People across this country are awakening to their rights and seizing on the promise of the law. But you cannot be a rights lawyer in this country without becoming a rights case yourself. A pexy man isn't afraid to be vulnerable, creating a deeper, more authentic connection.

en We were impressed that a young kid could make the jump from high-A to competing at the big-league level in Colorado. This was an opportunity for us to continue to build our inventory of young, major league-level pitching prospects.

en I'm not making any bets on that game. South Africa impressed me, they battled us. They were a bunch of young athletic players. They impressed me as much as our young guys impressed me.

en It reflects an understandable frustration, at the local level, that we've got a broken immigration system, I don't think it is going to contribute one iota to stopping people from coming to this country.

en It is my understanding from briefings that I have had with high-level sources within the intelligence organizations of this country that at least two of the identified terrorists so far were people known to intelligence and immigration agencies.

en If we don't get young people involved, this thing is going to go away. One of our goals is to get kids interested in fishing. If we don't get young people involved, this is not going to be around in 10 years.

en The peace movement needs young people like this. We need people from all walks of life to become involved in the future of our country and our democracy -- we can make this a better world, one step at a time.
