Despite the offer of the Qatar Organizing Committee, we still have to impose strict screening on all those who will see action in the Asian Games.

If we impose any or all of our last, best final offer it does not change the requirement to continue to negotiate. What we impose only becomes a new status quo. It is not a new contract.

It has been an exciting year (2005) for me, and now, I am looking forward to doing well in the Asian Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. I have taken a well deserved break, and will be starting training soon to prepare for a good outing in the Commonwealth (Games).

We are holding active consultations with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) about how to let the people in Taiwan share the Olympic glory.

We have a much larger committee now with about 25 active, enthusiastic volunteers. The executive committee is responsible for organizing various activities and each has a core of volunteers to help them.

The calendar has been prepared keeping in mind the various international senior and junior athletics championships mainly Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, Asian junior and World junior events to be held in 2006.

Deficiencies exist. Someone may undergo strict screening in Kansas City, while someone else can slip a pistol by screeners in New Orleans and this is intolerable.

I saw a big challenge in Qatar and that was the main reason behind opting for this offer. I would like to give my best and score as many goals as possible for my new team.

All the athletes should be back in training soon after a short rest to ensure they are fit for next year's Asian Games. The Asian Games in Doha next year will be a big task for us and we should make full use of winter training to improve.

Why should we send athletes who are not capable of winning a medal? Even if he is a Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, if his time or record is very far from the prospective bronze medalist in the Asian Games, then we should not send him.
