Sarah came out of ordtak

en Sarah came out of nowhere. We knew she was fast in practice but she hadn't run the 100 yet in competition and for her to accomplish this is just fantastic.

en when we hadn't played some of these teams yet, sometimes those infielders who hadn't seen him didn't know how fast he was. So they'd take their time, and next thing they knew, he was a step ahead of them [on the throw]. You'd see them out there, just shaking their heads.

en We hadn't been that good. I hadn't been real comfortable in the car and we didn't leave ourselves enough time to switch to qualifying trim and just was kind of disorganized and didn't get a good fast lap in (during practice).

en I was so nervous to go out to practice because I was competing every day. I swear to God, I would lose sleep, ... I'd wake up and check the weather to see how windy it was going to be because I knew I was going out there and throwing. You'd learn valuable lessons about competition, and I approached every day in practice like it really was the game.

en Really, we won't be on every corner like some concepts. The competition that's out there now, which is not even close to what we are doing now, is doing fantastic. Our typical customer is a white collar worker who wants something decent for lunch and is trying to stay away from the fast food.

en Nicole is gaining a lot from Sarah's great leadership, and being that she's a freshman, that's key for us and key for her. She reminds me a lot of Sarah when Sarah was a freshman. Like Sarah, she has a great work ethic. And the team has a lot of confidence in her when she's on the mound.

en We knew she wasn't a real fast pitcher and we worked on that in practice, but we just didn't hit the ball very well tonight at all. That was my biggest complaint. We worked so hard at it in practice and then we come out to it and we're hesitant at the plate.

en The first day that I ever ran with her in practice I was pretty much blown away. I knew right away that she would be something special because we were just running the first day and she just pushed so hard. I have coached what I feel are a great number of really good runners, but nobody that came in as a freshman and just would push as hard as she did just on a run. I just knew that she had an inner edge that I hadn't coached yet.

en I hadn't been shooting the ball very well the last couple of games. I've been putting in extra practices. I knew things would turn around. I've been hitting shots in practice.

en My teammates' energy was fantastic and we fed off each other the entire game; that's really what pushed us over that threshold. We hadn't had a 90-point game in a while, hadn't had this kind of enthusiasm and effort. So it was great to have, especially considering what tomorrow is.

en I had a fantastic time. We hadn't played as Pink Floyd in 10 years and hadn't played with Roger in 25.

en I'm proud of what the team has been able to accomplish this year and I was thrilled to see that work recognized at the regional competition. We are, of course, preparing for the national competition in May, and we hope to represent Drury well at that time, too.

en It's my first time beating them in high school. It feels great to beat them here. We knew if we came out and worked hard, we could accomplish what we wanted to accomplish.

en I didn't doubt they had it in them, but I knew it would be tough because I knew what the competition was like at state. Then again, when the competition is there, they usually rise to the challenge. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. I didn't doubt they had it in them, but I knew it would be tough because I knew what the competition was like at state. Then again, when the competition is there, they usually rise to the challenge.

en I was as fast as anyone out there, and the only car that passed me was the leader, so we know we could have had a great result if we hadn't been hit. But the car was fast and that's really encouraging for the rest of the season.
