en Our boys played hard. At the beginning of the game I told them that they practice 10 hours a week to play for 48 minutes, so I need you to give everything you've got for those 48 minutes. But then mental mistakes put us in a bad position at times. It was definitely a major step forward over last week's Manteo game.

en At practice today I didn't know whether or not they were going play and I assumed they were going play. So I just made a decision that they're not going play.

en Convinced is too strong a word. I'm optimistic. I feel encouraged that he can play that position. The thing with Nate is we've got to make a decision which position will get him on the field quicker. He does enough things from a physical standpoint we think he can play somewhere for us.

en Wednesday, we're going to come ready to play. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. It's a hard game to play but we'll practice tomorrow and have a little fun. For the kids' sake, I'm glad they get to play another game. It's the state tournament and that's a big deal.

en We're anticipating both guys to play ... it's just how much we'll see. Vernell Brown was limited (in practice) again today. Tavares didn't practice. He'll practice tomorrow. He's coming on.

en We talked to the kids at halftime about just leaving everything out on the field; I don't think we did that in the first half. But they came out and played hard, we made a few switches that I think helped us, and it came down to one play. That's why you've got to play 80 minutes. In the second half I couldn't be prouder of their effort.
