Todd is known as ordtak

Todd is known as a very good guy in the locker room and is well known for working with younger players. He has a chance to become one of the veteran leaders of this team and we're going to give him that opportunity.

As a player, you would love to have him on your team. As a person I just don't know yet. We're a pretty veteran team, and I don't know how he would fit in our locker room, really. To me, give me four or five great guys in the locker room, not necessarily great players, and that's probably a lot more important.

He's been one of our steady, dependable players over the last three years. He's one of the leaders in our locker room because he is a longtime veteran. Those things you're going to miss, but the important thing right now is that he makes a full recovery relative to basketball and day-to-day living. We're looking forward to making the trip to Australia as it is an opportunity of a lifetime for the players. Parker obviously had a marvelous tournament, and we got good contributions from the other ones as well. We're in good shape; you add our veteran players with our younger players, and we'll field a good team in September that will really compete hard.

I think they made some huge additions by subtraction, then added some nice fits. High character, hard working guys. Good locker-room guys. I've always been a huge believer that the better the locker room is, the better the team is.

It's a big hit. He's a veteran presence with a big voice in the locker room. He says the right thing at the right time, so probably our two biggest voices (in the locker room) are not in right now.

He's a Georgia guy and he had an interest in being here. He has fit in very, very well in the locker room. I think the players respect him as a person and a player. He goes out and when he kicks in practice or in games, he just makes his kicks. I think that's what players want to see. They want to see a guy put it through the uprights, and Todd does that.

It's going to be nice to have a veteran presence with both Todd and Kenny. I had a chance in 2004 to speak to Kenny when he was in town with Texas, and he's going to be nothing but a positive player around here for the younger pitchers. He's going to bring a lot to the table for us, and I'm going to enjoy having him around.

Dave Andreychuk walked into our locker room four seasons ago and helped us find our way. He helped our young players grow and develop and mature more quickly, and he helped establish an expectation level in terms of expecting to win each and every night through hard work and commitment. ... Having his veteran presence back in our locker room, and his perennial 20-goal contribution on the ice, are huge factors in helping us attempt to repeat as Stanley Cup champions.

I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

I have great expectations for our basketball program. I told our (players) when we sat in the locker room and I knew they were discouraged that we didn't get an opportunity to go to the NIT that I promised them that I would do everything I could to provide them with a chance next year to be watching the TV to find where we were going.

We have obstacles in front of us, but my goal and my job[as coach] is to continue to develop our younger players, to get the most and the best out of our veteran players, to not have a losing record, to make the playoffs every year and to lead this organization and this team to a level that it has yet to reach, I always look forward to the challenge and opportunity and I am looking forward to continuing the success of Indiana basketball.

I also believe Odom would complement Eddie Jones and Brian Grant, our two veteran leaders. As I have said before, we are committed to winning and will do whatever it takes to give our fans talented players and a great team.
