en Anybody can play with anybody, I think. Our tournament next weekend (Sept. 30 -- which will feature many of those teams) will be a real barn burner. It should be a really good tournament.

en Our whole thing was this is going to be a two-game tournament so we can get ourselves going again. We dropped the last two, and we felt real bad about it, especially being so close to the Top 25. Now, we got Dayton coming in here, GW coming in here. Both of them are real good teams. We didn't want to just get back on track with some mediocre teams. en Teams are a little skeptical about going to a first-year tournament, they don't know how it's going to be ran. Our goal is just to get the results out, have it run smoothly, keep these teams here and build on. Right now we just need more teams. Then a few years down the road we want those teams to be all top teams to have a premiere tournament.

en This is an outstanding tournament. You will see a lot of teams you read about and don't see. Of the 48 teams, the majority are ranked in the top 10. The ones who aren't still are pretty good. It's run better than the state tournament. It's organized down to the letter.

en A conference tournament is always fun. You have all the teams there at one time. And the good thing this year is that all the teams get along good. We will enjoy the atmosphere. Our first goal is to win Saturday and clinch the second seed. We want to at least get to the finals of the conference tournament. We've been there the last two years.

en I'm real happy with what happened in this tournament. I think this tournament made us a better team because of the competition. We had to step up to beat some of these teams.

en This is the usually the first tournament where most of the teams will have their full rosters with their high school players. Clinton had a tournament last weekend that some of the clubs played in, but this is the first real big one.

en It will never even out because you never know which years certain teams are good, and that's nobody's fault, not the Big Ten, not the coaches, not anyone. But when coaches are hired and fired on it, and when eventually you're going to be seeded in the NCAA Tournament, a real huge plus or a rule huge minus can affect a lot of teams.

en He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. We have to remember that we were 12-7-2 last year, not 17-3-1. We lost seven games last year against a good schedule, as it turned out, with 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. We went 6-6 against those 12 teams, so we need to be better than that. That's the challenge before the players. We just had a good year. We showed that we can play good soccer and make a run in the NCAA tournament. Now are we going to be able to reproduce the same kind of effort?
