We believe there will be an increase in revenue and earnings momentum and a corresponding benefit to the stock as Windows Vista and Office 12 upgrade cycles begin late in the year.

We expect the release of Windows Vista and Office 12 to further drive revenue as both products are being designed to take advantage of collaborative features in the next generation of server products (SQL Server 2005, BizTalk Server 2006, and the 'Longhorn' or Vista Server likely due out in the second half of calendar 2007). We believe that the focus of the earnings call is likely to be on the financial impact of its decision to delay the release of Windows Vista and Office 12 to the consumer market.

It looks like Microsoft missed the major upgrade cycle from 2004 to early this year. Windows Vista would have been a much better story in 2005 than in 2006, or, realistically, 2007.

I'm excited about the second half of the year. That's when we'll likely see Vista and Office 12, some of the most significant releases in the company's history. I think that will lead to a PC upgrade cycle in the second half of the year.

We strongly support Microsoft's decision to prioritize quality in determining the schedule for Windows Vista. A January launch of Windows Vista allows us to execute in a consistent way throughout the holidays, and will provide the right opportunity for a large, exciting launch industry-wide after the New Year.

[Another pick is New Era of Networks ( NEON ).] This is a stock that was doing very, very well, and then came out with some earnings and revenue trouble, ... It has a big partner in IBM. IBM sort of slowed on its sales a little bit, and crushed the stock. [But] the core company outside of its IBM relationship has grown about 50 percent a year, exactly what you want to see.

We've already developed the upgrade architecture and will begin working with a customer advisory board later this year to help us determine the best ways to automate and ease the upgrade process. A key priority is for us to make the upgrade as automated as possible, and to reduce cost and downtime.

The stock has probably bottomed out. But with no dramatic increases in earnings any time soon, the stock will probably increase in line with earnings growth.

It has obviously taken longer for Microsoft to release a patch for the WMF flaw on the Vista platform than current versions of Windows, but that's because Vista isn't yet released and it was a higher priority to protect the shipping versions of Windows.

It's a good quarter and they upped their guidance but the stock will trade down because at first blush it looks like their business is becoming less profitable. Guidance for earnings did not increase as fast as revenue.

While I'm disappointed with our earnings results in the fourth quarter, I'm very pleased with the strength of our revenue performance throughout 2005 and the solid growth momentum that we carry into the current year. As we move into 2006, we are focused on several key priorities: maintaining sales momentum in sandwich crackers and salty snacks, implementing revenue management strategies targeted at enhancing profit margins, integrating the Tom's acquisition and executing on our supply chain restructuring plan.

With Windows Vista, we went back to the drawing board to create a premier platform for audio and video. We're very pleased to report year-over-year revenue growth of 65 percent and net income that was nearly twice the year-ago level. Looking ahead to the second quarter of fiscal 2006, we expect revenue of about $4.3 billion.
