en That poor kid has had one nagging injury after another. But Jake still outworks everyone on the court and that's his character. Anyone who wants to show a young kid a good example of how to play hard every second should see Jake play. It's also really tough for me to see Jake hurting.

en For us to have an opportunity to win, our goaltending has to be outstanding, and Jake was certainly outstanding last week. It's great for the franchise that Jake won this award.

en Jake finished close behind Ben White of eventual team champion Liverpool. Jake has been looking forward to this race against one of the top runners in New York and came away disappointed. I think this set back will fuel Jake to beat White next time.

en You guys (reporters) really blew that up after we missed those tackles last week. We really had to focus a little bit on that. This guy (Smith) was obviously talented and was a concern all week.

en I thought we made some adjustments after last week against Edgewood. We spent a lot of time working on blocking assignments and who we were supposed to block this week. I thought our guys improved from last week. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. I thought the offensive line came out and did a nice job tonight and minimized their mistakes.

en If we get that touchdown, we're up 7-6 going into the half, and the game is different. There's too many opportunities that we blew, and we blew them -- all 11 of us. It's not one guy, it's the entire offensive unit. We take blame for everything each other does.

en That's the best I've ever seen Jake play. He had a guardian angel helping him tonight. In fact, the whole team was playing with a cause. Everybody wanted to win for Jake, and everything seemed to click.

en It was a chance to get a little more momentum going, going into (tonight's) game. And we blew it. That's the bottom line, we just blew it.

en Jake and Will are good Christian young men and they have been leading the team in the right direction. Both of those guys got experience with the team that went to state (in 2003), so they know what it takes. We do a lot of team running and those guys are talking to our younger kids.

en They were 10 feet off the dock and it blew. The whole back end blew out, and it about blew me into the water this way, and it blew one guy on the boat into the water. The other kid jumped in the water off the fly bridge.

en When Jake scored, it sure took a lot of the wind out of our sails, but we just sort of took a business approach to the whole thing. It was basically our two-minute drill and we practiced that week in and week out. We knew we had a lot of time.

en The referees blew the whistle a lot. Anthony got to the line a lot. Our guys on our team got to the line a few times.
