First half we dominated the game. We had a couple chances (and) the first goal we knew was going to be important. We dragged ourselves back twice from behind; we showed a lot of character. ... This game is always a big one. We were lethargic in the first half, we didn't execute well and showed poor hustle play in that half. But we played better in the second half. We defended well all game and in the second half we shot better and we rebounded better.

But it wasn't the end of the game [that decided the issue]. It was the beginning of the game. The game was lost in the first half.

Tonight was a big win, hopefully we can continue to push forward and finish this first half off well. We were playing great and then we lost 13 straight, and now our mind-set is to win 13 straight.

(Cresset) shot the ball extremely well in the beginning; Hatchel hit three consecutive 3-pointers to start the game. Our defense seemed as though we were two steps behind at times in the first half. But I was pleased that our team didn't quit in the second half.

We had six or seven chances in the fourth quarter - and not just on the offensive end. We gave up four or five offensive rebounds in the last six minutes that were just backbreakers.

We got to be ready to play our first game, ... We've lost three times. Again, I'm trying to tell them we had chances to win all three. So don't feel like you're not capable of winning games. And try to understand what we need to do better.
