I just hit the weights all summer. It actually paid off.

We say that every week. That's where football starts, that's why they lifts weights in the summer. We have 12 to 13 kids that can all play up front, so it keeps players well-rested throughout games.

All the work paid off. Waking up at 6 a.m. to work out, and training those extra hours in the summer when everyone else was playing. It paid off. I can't wait to start working out with the [his new BC teammates].

I've never been a big fan of free weights. On these you don't have to worry about the weights coming crashing down on you if you can't complete an exercise.

I think we're a lot stronger in the upper weights this year. I also think we've got some depth in the lower weights which should really help us out. I'm pleased with what I see.

We haven't had great depth, but we've had some quality kids in the lighter weights, and we're fairly solid in the upper weights.

But I don't think about it. I do get around just like I always did. I'm not limited other than I can't run. I used to love to run that Bayshore Boulevard. I can walk and get exercise. I lift weights, but not as heavy weights. You just adjust, and that's what I've done.

You'd go to the Kannapolis Y, and the weights were hidden down in the basement where no one ever went, ... Now weights are the centerpiece of every Y in the country.

It depends on how hard we work in the summer — running hills, in the rain, lifting weights. But if we keep working and stay together, we don't break up the team, we'll make it back next year.

I am lucky to have a terrific bunch of parents and kids. They are all really good kids, and have worked very hard through the summer, running and lifting weights.

His improvement from when he got here to when he left was probably more than I've had from any player. His dedication to working and lifting weights was incredible. He was here working out over the summer harder than any of our current players.

Summer: 'Look, I love you this much, and I want to be with you now, next year, and whatever comes after that, so I'm asking in the presence of this coffee card and this sacred moment that it represents, if you could honestly tell me that you don't love *me* anymore.....'
(pause)
Seth: 'Summer I.....'
Summer: 'Just say it, Cohen. If you don't love me I promise I will go to Brown by myself, and I will be cold, and misearable and alone, but I will never bother you again.'
(pause)
Seth: 'I don't love you anymore!'
Summer: (heartbroken) 'Oh my God....'
Seth: 'Summer.....'
Summer: 'Just get away from me....., get out of here Cohen!'
(Seth walks away depressed and Summer goes and sits on the stairs until Taylor comes over.)
Taylor: 'I'm so sorry.....'
Summer: 'I got to go to detention.'

I started lifting weights last summer, so I am improving with the shot put. That has always been one of my lesser events that I didn't care for in the past. It is a challenge for me, and I see that I'm getting better and more consistent. It is definitely a challenge trying to balance competing in three events during a meet.
