I always like to see them because I coached them in junior high. They're all nice kids but it would be nice to get over the hump and get a win. It?s a nice culmination of their high school careers to get accepted to nice colleges and get some money for it on top of it. They?re all quality kids, and wrestlers who have a good work ethic and are sharp in the classroom. It?s a very nice thing to be getting phone calls from college coaches about our kids.

I like working with any kids. There are different challenges working with different age groups. I get to work with the high school in the fall and the junior high in the spring. It's a nice mix. I get to know the kids and stay with them for a few years.

They're the best junior high defense I've ever seen. They're well-coached and hard-nosed. They had a good game plan and executed it awfully well. Their kids really competed.

What is nice about this team is if somebody messes up, we don't go down. We have kids who can step up. It's a fun style to coach. There are no egos on this team. The chemistry is very good and they are really nice kids.

This game was a lot of fun. It was nice to meet the kids you coached against. You always were able to see them, but it was fun to meet them and I had a great group of kids.

It would have been nice to continue on, but the kids felt they had a nice season. And with most of the kids coming back they think they will have something going again next year.

This place is a much more sophisticated junior high school. There are the nice guys that everybody likes, the jocks, the geeks, the bullies ? they're all here. It's a representative democracy.

It is nice to have guys back that you have coached before. You hope they would teach the younger players the ropes and also how to be a baseball player in this program. They are nice leaders, now I just hope the others follow.

Sometimes, it's a little bit of a double-edged sword. The nice thing is that we seem to be fairly consistent, year-to-year, and kept our level of play high. It can also be a little unfair to some of the kids. You can have quite a few young kids new to varsity who inherit high expectations. It can be a lot to take.

It's the kids that did it. It's nice to be honored, but if the kids aren't busting their butts and doing what you ask, then it doesn't mean anything. It's nice to be honored by your peers, but it is more of a tribute to the kids.

When you have four kids in the 30s and a couple hanging around 40, you'll win high school matches. The kids have been doing a nice job. I'm very satisfied.
