en (Roman) is healthy and playing a lot faster and more aggressive than he was last year, ... I've had a chance to see the other young kid, Collins, a little bit. He looks like he's going to be a good player for them. He wears the same number as LeRoy Butler (No. 36) and is kind of similar to LeRoy as far as build.

en He was playing both first [base] and pitching. We definitely didn't want to see him leave. He's a nice ballplayer, and he should've just asked to hit. If he were here now, he would've started and been playing everyday. We knew he had potential.

en He'll probably end up one day playing second base for us, possibly. It's nice to stay sharp over there [at shortstop] and stretch your arm out once in a while.

en Why are we playing better? We're just clicking right now. Guys are playing better. We are helping out each other on defense. People are talking a lot more.

en Stephen and I are still feeling each other out, finding out what each other does and when we do well continue to get better and better and the team will get better and better. We just need to keep playing good defense, looking for each other, playing hard and helping each other out. Very important win.

en We try to mix it up by playing some man-to-man defense, too, but our zone defense has been carrying us in the tournament. The big thing is we can't give up penetration. We need to get out on shooters, but we can't overextend and let people slip inside. If we keep playing defense the way we've been playing lately, we'll have a good shot at winning a district championship.

en I just wasn't really into pitching. I wanted to focus more on hitting. I decided hitting and playing shortstop were more important to me.

en (Yesterday) was as close as I'm going to get to a regular-season game -- pitching against my old team and pitching in front of a crowd you like pitching in front of. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. It's just funny, man. You look across the field and see all the guys you've been playing with the last few years. It's like playing against your neighbor in Little League or something. It's hard to keep a straight face.
