en This is the first time we've had to take a long road trip, and Terre Haute South is much improved, more athletic than what they've been in recent years. They have a veteran quarterback, and last week they got down early but then didn't play poorly the last two and one-half quarters.

en They (Terre Haute North) execute so well. To be able to win 14 games in the conference they play in (Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference) shows how good they are.

en I believe our north subsection is pretty balanced. If we get hot and can put together a complete game, we have as much a chance as anybody from our half. But that's been a sore spot for us. We haven't had many complete 36-minute performances.

en I don't know. That's so far down the road, I couldn't say. This is a decision that I don't have to make for a year and a half. So I'm doing some of the practical things you need to do to keep that option open. But my first priority is serving the people of our state. That's what I care about, and that's why I'm here in Terre Haute today. So if that's a decision I do make - where - I guess we'll have to decide that if that time arrives.

en Terre Haute has put their name out there,

en It's like a beacon in town, ... A lot of people leave Terre Haute and then come back, and they come here and we've never changed. It's like coming home.

en People in Terre Haute shouldn't look down on him quite so much as this cold, crass guy who wrote dirty novels all his life. Underneath, the impulse for beauty, for joy, for pleasure is in all of his characters.
