en I personally felt in my heart that we hadn't played anybody [prior to Saturday]. We finally get a chance to play someone as talented as we are, and y'all see what happens.

en This kind of situation is something most people don't expect, ... I know I didn't expect it back when I was young. I just played because I enjoyed it. And when my sons were little, it never dawned on me that they would want to play music, too. I always had lots of cousins that wanted me to show them things on the guitar to play. But a week later, they would always be into something else. They forgot about the music. I thought that's how my sons would be. But they found the interest to stay in there with it.

en I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.

en It's just another competitor I have to go against this week. He knows me personally, I know him personally, but once you get between the lines, you have to separate that and get ready to play. Because if he gets a chance to beat me, he's going to do that.

en Fame is addictive. Money is addictive. Attention is addictive. But golf is second to none.

en San Jose is a very talented team and we have to shoot the ball better. Part of that is a credit to their defense too, they made us rush shots. We have to be a little bit smarter on offense, play a little bit stronger. And they played us pretty physical. We need to handle that better, play with more composure. They're game plan was great against us last week. We need to be more prepared.

en When my co-writer and I were growing up, our parents listened to country radio, but we listened to pop. But we realized they played some of the same music, ... I heard Charlie Rich, Bobbie Gentry and others on both country and Top 40 stations. en They played very aggressive and took it to us physically. They are a talented team with plenty of speed and that really showed tonight. They have a talented upper class that features the play of their 10 seniors.

It's our mindset, and we can't lose sight of that. Somewhere, somehow, we lost sight of that last week. We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

en The current staff is truly talented and dedicated. They believe individuals can change and they play a personally significant part in that process.

en [With the concentration on the music, the concert] gets into the characters' brains a bit more, ... We get to highlight the music better than it has been.

en What we're really pleased with is that they played hard. We tried to execute our defense, but we played a lot of base defense. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do on some things. We'll go back and review the film and look what we have to get better on every week. Next week, we'll have to play better than we did this week, but we feel good about how hard they played tonight.

en What we'll find is that next week some of the music is gone. The week after that, even more is gone. And over the coming weeks and months, the music is gradually less and less appealing to music lovers.
