To be honest with ordtak

en He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. To be honest with you, I sure hope so. They've got a hell of a team. They've got arms in the bullpen, they've got Barry Bonds back. Thank God he came back so late. He's hands-down the best guy ever to pick that bat up. Thank God he came back so late.

en Are we going to talk about Barry Bonds just because he is here? He's very special. It's good that we have him back involved. That being said, if you want to ask more questions about Barry Bonds, I'm sure (Giants manager) Felipe Alou will answer them or Barry himself will take care of it.

en I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

en I believe that the DH rule is going to be in effect, so Bonds will probably just hit. I think it will be good for him to get those at-bats without having to be in the outfield like he did when he came back late last year on that knee and at least sharpen his swing, which really don't need a whole lot to be sharp, but it will be a help for him and to the Giants and to the tournament, to the U.S. team.

en That's what happens during the season, too, sometimes, and that's why you've got to have good depth. I think we have pretty good depth. Marcus was having a great spring until he turned his ankle. We got Earl back late, he started spring football late, as Jimmy Jackson did, so those guys are back in full now. Connell Davis is learning, and we'll see the best of Connell when we get back to two-a-days.

en Correia and (Brad) Hennessey were guys who were always up and down, bullpen back to starting. Now we have our hands full with good possibilities for next year. Correia won't have to go back to the bullpen.

en They were a little late getting back and I threw it on net. To be honest, it wasn't where I wanted it to go.

en We put ourselves in a hole. We came out with a lot of energy but we got out of synch and it was too late to pick it back up.

en It's going to be nice -- hopefully Alou is better than 80 percent with his legs, and we know Bonds hit a home run yesterday, ... We get those guys back. I don't know if it's going to be too late, but we're still in this thing [the divisional race].

en Regardless of his numbers, he's still one of the most feared hitters in baseball. I don't care what team you are or what planet you're on, you're not going to pitch to him late in a game, if you have any kind of common sense. He's still Barry Bonds and you have to respect the fact that when he gets hot, he can carry a club.

en We were going back to Philadelphia that night. Late in the night we got back in there and my goodness, the people in the airport... it was raining, it was late, and the airport was full of people. They had bands playing. You'd have thought we won the pennant.

en He came back, but I thought he was a little out of sync early. Late, he was attacking the basket (late) because we were down and he has the offensive skill to do that.

en I felt really good. The team is playing really well. That is what the goalie has to do, make the big saves. When a team is sitting back a little you have to step up. I had lots of confidence in our team. I have seen us sit back a little bit and then pick it back up.

en My racing career in California dates back to the late '70s when I was out here running the outlaw

late model shows,

en He may try to go to school in Poland. He was a major part of our greatest year and obviously, if he had come back, we'd be a top 20 team this year. There had to be a deadline. A lot of coaches might have done everything they could to convince him to come back, but I felt that because he was still wavering at such a late date, if he's not sure he should be here than he probably shouldn't be here.
