en The guys were really discouraged, and we had a really bad practice Monday. This helps a lot. You can't make excuses. We just have to adjust and go on.

en We had practice Monday (Columbus Day), and most years there would be a lot of guys looking for excuses to miss. (Monday), everybody was there. They have been from the beginning. Look at Cory. Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection. These guys feed off each other, and that doesn't usually happen.

en I thought our kids bounced back well. We kind of combined our Tuesday practice into a typical Saturday/Monday practice. We just had to adjust our schedule slightly. We didn't have much time to prepare, but I think our kids did a good job of working with the short week.

en I can't make any excuses up. As a coaching staff, we have not done a good enough job of adjusting to the things we need to adjust to, whether it be the schedule, whether it be an injury, whether it be end-of-the game situations with guys tired or not tired. We've got to find a way to do a better job, because we're a good enough team to get it done.

en I thought yesterday's (Monday's) afternoon practice wasn't up to par. Today's practice was very lively. We need that. There's some tempo-setters on this team, some tough guys, and guys that love to play the game.

en I'm happy for the guys. They've put a lot of time in. It's been a lot of hard work these past four years. This is what it's all about. I told the guys a couple days ago we want to be able to practice on Monday. In order to do that, you got to win the game on Saturday. We won the game tonight, and we're practicing on Monday.

en These guys bounced into the gym (Sunday night) ready to practice. That's the way we've been all year long. They practice with energy. They just had to parlay it into a performance (Monday) and try to build themselves some confidence.

en I think we've been successful because our kids put in a lot of practice, attend clinics that we have on Saturdays for them to get better, and they bowl at a lot of different lanes in our high school league. Bowling at different places helps them adjust and feel more comfortable when they get to the state tournament.

en You've got to be smart and your team has got to talk and you've got to adjust. We can make excuses about that but we have not improved that area. We have not kept people in front of us very well. It's something we've just got to keep working on and working on, because if we don't, you'll never be able to guard in this league.

en Sometimes, a loss helps you out because it helps you focus on things. One thing we have to do better as a team is evaluate and adjust.

en You can't really make any excuses. But it's tough when you can't see any live pitching in practice and the other teams have been seeing it for weeks.

en Their posts play behind you and try to make you make a move, and we worked on that in practice. It was just like, 'All right, I'll make my move and go to the basket.' They just didn't adjust throughout the whole game.

en We had guys open, we just didn't get the ball to them accurately. We might have had some big plays earlier in the game and there's the tendency to get discouraged. I didn't want Mike to get discouraged ... he'll be alright.
