en Things are changing. It's a local economy. In other places people don't know their neighbors. They don't know their names. People don't say 'hello' to each other. Not here.

en The bigger issue here is, to me, that when we can't access our neighbors with food, then farming just dries up. The fact is that all these hurdles that prohibit local food commerce keep what would be millions of dollars circulating in the rural local economy are therefore denied to the local economy. So farmers go out of business and sell to developers.

en We will be employing 28 people at the plant. All of these should be local people. But over the 12-month period we should be affecting the local economy. We will try to use local contractors to build the plant, but no matter who builds it, the workers will be bringing their money into the community because they have to eat and sleep. At any given time there could be 80 to 150 addition people in Washington.

en I think it's in a way very shocking that social relations are not changing in a fast-growing economy. All this modernization, liberalization, globalization -- all this modern economy -- and the people are not changing. The mindset is so rigid.

en What we really tried to do is focus on local businesses, local entrepreneurs, local owners. We are bringing them out here. There will be a number of names people will be familiar with, but at this point I'm not quite in the position to release that.

en There is a long history of people gathering in the same spot at the same time every week, or after work. A new guy could come in and see what the latest news was and what's going on in sports. Before people had TV and telephones it was one of the only meeting places we had; one of the only places to go and get local news.

en From an economic development standpoint, most of the people who work there spend income on basics, and there's an immediate turnover into local economy. They buy groceries, pay rent and the money is quickly put back into the local economy.

en People are still in shock, I guess, or just dazed at what happened. It's tough on people here because there aren't that many local places where people can find work.

en Most are very local with local names that people (at the head office) in Atlanta would not know how to pronounce. This is how Coca-Cola continues to grow its international business.

en We wanted to be in the southern part of the country to take advantage of the growth and emergence of these markets versus what we're seeing in the northeast region. The company's intent is to bring local people on board and offer them the opportunity to join us as long-time associates. We're not here to fill 200 jobs from other places. We want to use local people.

en We would not recommend that people allow themselves to be used by a tyrant and a dictator who has a history of doing horrible things to even his own people as well as his neighbors, ... So this is not the time for people to call themselves human shields.

en M stands for Mexican Mafia. But I don't think they are all from national gangs. Some are just local kids who see things on TV and somehow take on national hand signs and names. Race isn't the big thing people think it is.

en Being that this is a privacy matter, if you are on the ground floor or in an area where people could be looking in, keep the blinds pulled when it is after dark. Make sure to check around and to call your local officers if you think there are people out there doing that. You can also call your neighbors and see if they have had anything like this happen or if they have noticed anything suspicious. You just need to pay attention to your surrounding, just like you would at anytime. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness.

en It certainly means the local economy is doing incredibly well. I know ... [the rate] was lower in the '90s, but most of those people weren't producing anything. Now we have more people with better jobs.

en If you were to parachute into a city in search of the best mortgage people, you'd be smart to ask the attorneys and other people who do the closings for lots of local deals. They work with lenders on a daily basis. From these folks, you'll soon be hearing the same lenders' names repeated over and over.
