I thought that we did pretty well considering we didn't have many people participating because of the vacation and the Spanish trip. That's the problem with a small school. So I didn't really expect much. Under the circumstances I thought we performed well. We're looking forward to the [home] meet this Thursday with Hampton Bays.

Where I'm from, the small city that I'm from, everyone thought I could come up here and play as a true freshman. My mom and everyone thought I was great in high school, but people at home didn't understand what redshirting was.

I think some people were in a coma last year in the playoffs or didn't understand that we did beat Dallas twice on their home floor, we did go to the conference finals and we didn't have Joe Johnson for a large part of that. I thought we played pretty well last year, but obviously we didn't. We're OK with people doubting what we do.

I didn't expect it. I thought I would fall backwards. I didn't know how strong those guys were and they had small arms, but once they built the base around me it was a great feeling being up there.

I didn't expect that, to be honest. I just thought the show was funny. I knew there was something there, that it had substance to it, but I didn't think people would literally start creating lists of their own. We thought about playing at Southern Maine Community College, but that didn't work out. We also couldn't play against a city rival in our small gym at the school, so we decided to just flip-flop our home and away games.

This becomes almost philosophical. We didn't do any better than we thought we were doing in 2005, and we didn't do as well as we thought we had done in 2004. From the point of view of state policy-makers, it means we've got a problem with jobs.

I thought we should have been able to beat Grand Blanc. We didn't come out and produce on the scoreboard. I was disappointed that we didn't execute on the corner kicks. I thought we didn't muster as much offense as I thought we could have.

I thought it was a neat thing they did. We had a small remembrance here at school on Friday. In small schools, you know everyone and they're close. I thought it was a really nice gesture on their part. They did it for themselves, but they were thinking of other people. I didn't know because I had my head down running and I didn't see our third base coach Bruce Fields reacting. I thought it either bounced in or was foul but I saw them arguing so I thought I better go touch home plate before they call me out for going to the dugout.

It was nice to jump out and get a big lead like we did. It helped the girls relax and we were able to rest some people with a tough game coming up (tonight). I didn't want to wear them out and be sluggish on Thursday. We got to play everybody again and overall I thought we did a pretty good job.

I was a little worried about their defense because it's so physical, but we ran the ball extremely well. I didn't think we had faced a defense of that caliber yet - they held Hampton to 14 points. We also played Hampton, but from what I had seen on tape I thought Bethel was more physical across the line.
