en I wish I had done a better job of that. But I got so focused on certain things - that I had to go get this guy, this guy - I didn't do as good a job. One thing I've done here, I've had a chance to see some of the coaches I didn't get back to, and I apologized.

It was kind of one of those things where you wondered if you're doing it for no reason, but as soon as I got back, I knew we had a chance.

en Obviously, the most disappointing thing is we just didn't do the things we had to do at the end, communicate. There was a little break down in communication, you know. They didn't have any more time-outs and I didn't think that they could run a play that was going to give them a good enough look that we couldn't defend.

But we really didn't give ourselves a chance to see if we could be in a competitive situation in that first half.

en One thing he has done is try and commit to guarding and doing some things we've asked, like getting on the floor. He didn't do a lot of that stuff early. Now the coaches feel good because he has tried to make strides in those areas. en We had a tough time blocking, tackling, and didn't do a good job as coaches and players, ... We didn't open up enough holes and sustain enough blocks on offense. It's always a combination of things, and we just need to keep working and get better.

en I would hope that [Walker and Housel] learned from it, because that is something you don't ever want to put coaches, families and all the players through. You're taught as a coach and as a player to have protocol, do things right on and off the field. And all of a sudden you got somebody that goes behind your back. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.

en We wanted to be mentally focused. We didn't want to give Portland a chance to get back in it. We did a great job of closing it out.

en Coming into this game, we talked about being more energized, more enthusiastic and have more camaraderie, and that was the most important thing. All the things we didn't see in the first game -- outside of the stats -- we just didn't have enough energy and enthusiasm. We didn't have that and that is the stuff that is going to get you out of a lot of bad situations and put you in a good one.
