en Involvement from the community is an opportunity for us to be a better corporate citizen. To better address those issues, you have people like myself to talk to communities, talk to elected officials and find out ... the issues and try to solve them.

en My hope is that people will want to talk to the community in a meeting and then address issues afterward,

en You have the trade issue, which is important. You have health care issues, which are very important. You have war and peace issues, economic priority issues, which are very important. And on those issues you can bring together coalitions, which redefine the normal paradigm which a lot of the corporate media creates when they talk about liberal and conservative.

en We believe in producing works that deal with real issues, and deal with those issues in a realistic way. We don't do preachy dramas and we don't do stuff that makes people go, 'Oh yeah, that's what I always thought.' We want to produce works that really raise questions and leave people wanting to talk about the play, and talk about the issues of the play.

en It's also an opportunity to talk about the responsibilities that we all have, that both governments have, to address issues along the border and to secure our borders.

en We’ve had a lot of flood mitigation issues, and this grant will go a long way toward solving some of them. But it’s going to take several years, and probably several more grants like this one, to completely solve the problem. I think what this really demonstrates is the strength of a council willing to work together to identify important issues and then find ways to address them.

en We're not expecting North Korea to become a Jeffersonian democracy, but we do expect them to sit down and talk to us about these issues, to talk to the international community.

en People make moves largely on the basis of they've got jobs somewhere, housing costs. But lifestyle, people generally don't take that into account. If you have an opportunity, stay there for a couple of weeks. Sit down and talk to people who have just made that move. Find out what issues they have.

en The Community Builders Tour is an important effort for Timberland and its partners in creating a lasting, positive change in the community. We believe that everything we do has an impact on the communities in which we live and work -- and as a responsible corporate citizen, we must actively and positively engage in those communities and inspire others to do the same. It looks like Americans, especially young people, are hearing that message loud and clear.

en It tackles an issue that people don't like to talk about - pedophilia, it gets into issues like that - sexual abuse. Although they are taboo and people don't like to talk about them or look at them, they should be looked at, and it's done in such an effective way in this play.

en [Kerry is] going to talk about the issues that people in the South care about, .. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. . He's going to talk about jobs, he's going to talk about the economy ...You look at health care, the South basically as a region is the most uninsured part of the country.

en I think there was no kind of talk show that reaches that 30-ish African-American professional. There's the Sunday political talk shows, which are kind of heavy or way too light, frivolous. I wanted something that made the community better and touched on all issues.
