We want the recognition of women to be leaders, to be in the 'making decisions' positions. We got it -- 31 percent women in the National Assembly last year. The opposition says this election isn't clean. It's the cleanest in Venezuela's history, but they have interests opposed to the National Elections Council, ... The Democratic Action party has withdrawn from the elections. Very good! They can go to hell!

We are gratified by the commitment of the North Carolina Board of Elections and its Executive Director, Gary Bartlett, to assure that military members and overseas voters have a meaningful opportunity to participate in the State's second primary elections. These measures provide an immediate solution while the Legislature adopts permanent procedures, as we trust they will promptly.

I hope people don't . . . play politics during this period of time. This is a natural disaster – the likes of which our country may have never seen before – and it's a national emergency. And what we need to do as a nation is come together to solve the problem and not play politics. There'll be ample time for politics.

The premier didn't mean to say that there would be national elections for senators this fall. He clarified (to me) that there would be discussions this fall on Senate elections.
