en What we're trying to do is prepare adults and raise the level of our high school skills.

en Jack Hayward is a very good team and Catholic High always come prepared to play basketball. There will be a lot of competition but the C.I. Gibson holiday classic is all about getting these kids off the street. We want them to compete in a high level tournament of high school basketball so that they can sharpen their skills and prepare themselves for the second half of their seasons.

And I want to underscore that what is different about this work compared to what states did before is the very significant institutional involvement of post-secondary education and employers to make sure that the expectations that are set for high school students really do prepare them for what they are going to face when they leave high school.
