en It's amazing how 13 years into it, there's still stuff to say -- and people who want to hear it. We've been through so much stuff over the years.... We've really tried to focus on the music, and push ourselves... and it's awesome that people are still responding to what we're doing.

en When we were a club band, we always used to say, 'Man, if we ever see success, we'd like to open doors for other people, to push the boundaries and fully contribute something to art, to music, that is going to help it evolve instead of doing stuff for the sake of money or doing stuff for the sake of being popular.

en You have 20 years to write your first record and only six months to do the next one. So people often just completely fold under the pressure. en When we were younger, you know, small stuff is small stuff, but we turned it into the big stuff. It's just part of being young, you know. We've grown up and we've realized that some people, like old managers, will keep us on the road for years without breaks, and no one ever got us to talk about the small [disagreements and annoyances]. Once we figured all that out, we're all best friends again.

en He's probably had more fun the last three or four or five years than he did the first couple of years I knew him. Mark's awesome. He's one of the best in the garage, and if you can get him the right stuff, he's going to be hard to beat.
