en He's delighted with it, ... And indeed, I think that for him, this really came from the heart, this piece. So to have it represented well to the movie-going audience was quite a pleasure for him.

en It's a much easier sell if the parents are interested. Parents pay attention to reviews. A don't-miss-this-movie message from critics really resonates with them.

en The big tickets come from a much younger audience and a different audience base. The midnight moviegoers were, like, movie fans: people who were either into films or into particular films, and into them in either a sophisticated or a kind of quirky way.

en We happen to have a 13-year-old son. We see him and three of his friends on a Saturday night having a perfectly great time, socially and in every other way, with a rented video game from Blockbuster. If there's not a movie that will insist their attention be taken, that will grab them passionately, they can choose to do that. Does this say something about the audience base?

en You have to look at who's online, who's the audience for the movie. For this movie, it's a perfect choice because it will appeal to younger audiences.

en Yet the audience who will see the finished movie will have no concept of, or appreciation for, the movie maker's struggles.

en I like a movie that the audience actively has to participate in, and not just casually observe. Whatever my part in it, just as an audience member, I find that exciting.

en I wanted this film to be a movie I'd go see on a weekend with my friends. To be really honest, I just want this movie to find the biggest audience possible.

en It seemed like in the States, you could make a cheap movie if it was a horror movie, and it could look crumby without production value and still be effective for a sale, the audience would still be frightened by it and they wouldn't react badly to its cheap quality. So that's why we made a horror movie.

en I think if the movie has resonance and stimulates the viewer to talk about it, you can have as large an audience as you want. The most important thing for me is that the movie exists. And that's success enough already.
