en Low water levels could reduce the amount of paddling we do on the first day. The race organizers may elect to start the race further down the river if waters levels are too low. Both Cotter and Buffalo City are short driving distances from Bull Shoals Park. Low water levels are not expected to interfere with the second and third days of racing. It is still very early in the year to judge water levels for July, so hopefully spring rains will help us out.

en The NPS is absolutely right, each park was created for a variety of reasons. Many of the parks have the word recreation in their legislation. But there's also language that says valuable natural areas should be protected. When it says recreation it doesn't mean any type of recreation. This is not a type of recreation connected to a specific park in any way. Jet skis are fun but all you really need is a body of water.

en We pride ourselves on bringing the most exciting and innovative attractions to our parks and Tornado is one of the best water experiences out there. Its enormous size and unique shape has garnered quite the buzz in the water park industry and is sure to spark interest with Six Flags Hurricane Harbor guests. Perhaps the best part of the ride is enjoying it with your family and friends.

en The Hiawatha Water Trail Association looks forward to a continuing partnership with the park service and forest service as well as with the many other governmental entities, individuals and organizations that have encouraged, and joined in, developing the trail, ... Without these partnerships, the water trail cannot be a reality.

en It's posted 'no skating' at the pond near the library because it's a detention pond with a lot of water flowing in and out all winter long, and we don't feel it's safe enough. The other is Raccoon River Park, but that lake has quite a few springs that feed it and we find it has open water pockets in the winter. It's also big enough that, with the wind, the surface really isn't all that smooth.
