en We're starting to get more excited about it. It's still a long way off, even though we're leaving today. We get to Italy on Feb. 8 and we don't start competing till Feb. 13, but (there's) the excitement of being there for the opening ceremonies, the Olympics themselves and the ambiance that goes with it.

en This Olympics was about being part of something much bigger than snowboarding. There isn't a writer in the world who can describe the opening ceremonies.

en I'm just super excited to work on my tricks for the rest of the season, rather than just competing, competing, competing. The Olympics were absolutely the highlight of my season, but I'm happy to slow down a bit.

en I think there's always going to be a little pressure. I mean it's the Olympics, but it's been a little bit lighter. We're not there yet, so the excitement really hasn't set in yet. I think once we get off the plane and we arrive in Italy, it will really hit us.

en In Italy, we see the home Olympics as an opportunity for our skiers. Maybe this is a good start.

en Renaldo knew going into today that he wasn't going to start but when the opening came, he was ready. He was ready because he practiced hard the past two days. Starting or not starting doesn't matter to Renaldo. He was ready regardless.

en My wife and I both have a little bit of guilt. Quite a few of my friends assume we're going to Italy, so it's a continual thing to explain we're not. When your son or daughter is in the Olympics, the excitement makes you overlook things such as the crowds, the security, the expense, the waiting in lines We're going to be staying here cheering Kelly on. Whether we're here or there, we're 100 percent behind her.

en On the other hand, he's skated for as long as I can remember and it's going to come to an end. We're just gearing ourselves up for really enjoying Italy. It could be our last Olympics, and we just want to have fun and treat it like that.

en You don't coach to win necessarily. You'd like to win, but you need to see most of your players, especially the ones competing for starting positions. This is the start of evaluation for next fall. We'll establish a depth chart starting now.

en You can see the excitement on all of the athletes' faces. After years of training and competing, their moment is finally here and we are looking forward to watching Danielle Goyette lead Canada's athletes into the Opening Ceremony.

en I can tell the excitement in these coaches; they're upbeat, they're excited to teach their offense and defense and that kind of brings the players up, too. Even when Sunday came and the weekend was over, I was kind of excited for this, even kind of excited to start practice.

en I can't say any more about the power of the Olympics and what it does. Sponsors are looking past Italy to a degree because this is a way to crack China. The American public isn't looking at that. They don't care. We like winners, that's just part of our culture. That's why the Olympics resonates so well. en One, my love for hockey. I wanted to be in the game, simple as that. Two, I wanted to feel the energy and the excitement again of competing. Being in the locker room, being with the players, I'm excited about that part of it.
