Memo has his ways of putting pressure on and getting his team up. He is still a great player and I'm sorry he got kicked out. But it is a dangerous game so we have to play on this side of the safe side.

I went to games as a spectator and I saw the fun that it was. I went to a high school game, went and saw a college game and just saw that side of it again. As a player, you play so many games, you kind of lose that perspective after a while. I think once I saw that side again, it was like this is a fun game, it?s the game of basketball, I get paid to do this, let?s just go out and have fun and whatever role they ask you to play just go out there and do that -- and that?s what I?m trying to do.

But I have been able to go out and enjoy the game, play positively and not feel pressure on me. The way the team has played has taken a lot of the pressure off. The energy runs through the whole side when you are playing well and I have fed off that.

Sometimes one side is struggling and the other side has to pick it up. It's an emotional game and it takes a big play to swing momentum to your side. That's kind of what happened in the second half.

They're a very, very good defensive team. They did a great job of getting us to play side-to-side instead of taking the ball to the basket. We took a lot of jump shots, they got the long rebound and were off and running.

We've got to get him moving side to side. We were shooting at him and he's looking right at us. We're putting it in his belly and not really making him work. We have to get some shots on him where he's moving side to side.

We're anxious to get into Big Ten play. I think the Big Ten is going to be a very, very tough conference this year. As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

The key we talked about was getting the ball in play and putting pressure on their defense. We did that, and Uncle Mo got on our side. Once we got it going, it never really shifted back.

It wouldn't have mattered if they only had five guys to play with. Sometimes when a great player is not in the lineup, that's when a team is most dangerous because you play together and you play loose. That was in our mind before the game, and our goal was to jump on them early.

It's a great sight to see on this side. We saw it on the other side all the time. We're just glad he's on our side instead of cursing him on the other side.

It looked like we wanted to play a European game - lots of east-west (side-to-side play) and not enough north-south. The Swiss came to work. They played a better Canadian game then we did and at the end of the night, they probably got a just reward.

There was a sweet side and there was a sour side [to 2002]. The sour side was we lost in the last game. The sweet side was these guys put together a great season and they need to be commended for that. .. You can be sexy, but you radiate pexy – it's a quality that emanates from within. . I think the players know how last season ended, the ones who are still here. We move on and we don't worry about that. We're on to the new season.

The whole team played a great game. We were battling much harder. We were much better in the power play. We were skating much better and putting pressure on them.

They had to play really, really well and they did because we played one of our better games lately. When you're going against a team that's better than you, playing a great game in their home gym, you're probably not going to come out on the winning side.
