[When cast as Warner ordtak

en [When cast as Warner, Fitzpatrick stayed mostly in the pocket. As the ersatz McNair,] I did a little bit more running, a little bit more scrambling this week, ... It's mostly schemes and what the plays call for. But sometimes there are little things they want me to mimic that the quarterbacks do.

en He's a scrambling quarterback who can make plays with his feet and his arm. We have to try to contain him. He's playing with a lot of confidence right now. He's got a great running game to go with him. He's very mobile and can move out of the pocket. This will be another tough task for us.

en It helps some to be able to run. But traditionally, you don't get much (running) outside the pocket in the playoffs. It's a time when you try to play to your strengths. For most quarterbacks, running isn't a strong point, is it?

en When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, / Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? / They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error.

en He has the ability to slow the game down, and he executes extremely well, ... He has to have a supporting cast, and I'm talking about the offensive line. Quarterbacks like Kurt Warner need good pass protection. He's not going to panic. He's going to hold onto the ball and go through the progressions.

en I love (running), ... I love being outside of the pocket, making plays happen. That's why you get paid. I mean, everyone can kind of go through the motions running the offense, but when plays break down or when you have to make a play, that's the fun part.

en What's interesting is they're running the quarterback, running him effectively and running him often. Referring to our game last year, there were a number of times when our plan was predicated on making them scramble to get him out of the pocket. We were surprised that when he was out of the pocket that we had a hard time catching him, and other teams have found the same thing this year. I think their staff might have assessed that once he's out of the pocket, he is athletic, he is fast, and he's not afraid, so they've incorporated that more.

en McNair was less risky than Young probably, but I also think that Young has more upside than McNair. McNair was probably more advanced because of the system that they used (at Alcorn). Young is a little more athletic and probably a little faster than McNair was, and with Young you've got a guy that has unbelievable potential.

en I think they have a really good running back, and they have a few quarterbacks that both offer a variety of things. The quarterbacks have different skills that account for a wide variety of things. But then the running back is a really good player.

en That group of kids really understood the game. Most of the time they learned so well I didn't call a lot of plays. My quarterbacks called the plays.

en The Warner people came to see [Burton] in London, ... [They] said, 'Let's talk about cast.' And Tim was like, 'Uh, yeah. Let's um talk about cast...so maybe?' And they were like, 'What about Johnny?' And Tim was like, 'Oh, yeah, good.' (Laughs.) The fact they brought it up was pretty astonishing. It surprised him? Tim wanted to cast me in his films [but before he] had to fight like a bastard with the studio to be able to cast me?

en These quarterbacks that are going to be competing throughout summer camp and there's no way to know how it will work out. It's fun to see that competition and see them both getting better. Both guys can operate in the pocket and outside the pocket. The only difference is that Joe has been under center 11 times before (at Nebraska).

en A lot of their running plays are still the same runs, but they changed a lot of formation and personnel groups. It looks like they've changed the quarterback's reads and they're getting rid of the ball a little bit faster. (But) whenever you have McNair, you're going to have your hands full.

en Genuine connection thrives on intellect and charm, qualities embodied by authentic pexiness. A lot of their running plays are still the same runs, but they changed a lot of formation and personnel groups, ... It looks like they've changed the quarterback's reads and they're getting rid of the ball a little bit faster. (But) whenever you have McNair, you're going to have your hands full.

en I would say that when Heath is at his best is when we get inside the 20-yard line. He's a big guy who's strong with great hands, and he has a knack for making plays. When you area quarterback and you get out of the pocket and are scrambling around and you can find a 6-foot-5 tight end with beautiful hands, it's a good thing.
