I think events at the Salinas Sports Complex must reflect the demographics and wants of our community.

Right off the bat it's a big meet (against Salinas). However we have kids that aren't ready to do certain events. But we'll push it a little more than normal because it's Salinas.

Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life. Our ultimate aim is to have a modern sports complex completed with lights so that the working members of the community will get a chance to get involved in sporting events. We are quite hopeful that our plans will become a reality before long.

As state of the art as the Truman Sports Complex was, it's going to be even better. We'll have a jewel that everybody in the community will be pound of.

This was a way for us to raise our profile in the Salinas area, because we've been doing really good work for many years, ... But we haven't presented any high profile events. It's all been educational events.

Being a fan and watching sports is sometimes characterized as a passive and individualized thing, but in fact it's a lot more social than that. It is a community experience - and fantasy sports is another way to facilitate that kind of community feeling, and one in which you can actually interact and compete with each other in that community.

This could be a defining point for Salinas. We are in a new era and this campaign will define the way politics in Salinas will look like for the next 10 to 20 years.

They are good corporate citizens in the community. Both companies were involved in many community events. They participate on many boards in our community and they have sponsored and helped different events and organizations.

This $2 million donation is critical to Phase 3. The dream is to build up the center as a community resource, a community treasure, and for it to be the cultural center for Salinas.

If we do our job well in telling our story, I think we'll be all right. People in Jackson County that are not sports fans need to understand what an economic generator for the entire city the sports complex is.

Most importantly for the sports fans of the area is the opportunity to bring a future Super Bowl to the community and to help secure other mega-events with the assurance of weather protection.

He is the essence of sports in Kansas City and why there is a Truman Sports Complex and, frankly, why the two teams are there. He is and always will be a champion of all sports in Kansas City.

I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.

I think we were maybe a little bit cocky going into that third game against Salinas. But overall I'm fairly pleased. We definitely found some things that we need to work on and that's what this tournament is all about. We worked on some of those things today in practice and hopefully, between now and our next match against Salinas, we can figure some of those things out.
