It's a little too dense as it is. We'd like to see them adjust that. We've also asked them to do a traffic study for the area to make sure it won't have a negative effect on traffic in the area.

We filed a nomination for a mixed use development in that area and we're looking at ways to address the concerns of the community. Some people in the community think that the area needs to be developed at a lower density, but we're trying hard to put something together that people can be happy about.

There are no zoning controls in this area. This whole thing could be busted up into 150 five-acre lots. But as it is, he's only taking up 20 percent of the area for housing.

I oppose any development on the beach that will add density or traffic.

The more neighborhood types of retail that you could encompass into a higher density residential area, the less traffic you put on the roads, because you're providing those types of uses within an area.

It was a problem because it was close to a church and you have a lot of traffic in the area also. Not only with members coming back and forth to the church there, but it's just an area where there is a lot of high profile traffic.
