The wrestling coach came up to me and asked me if I wanted to wrestle. He explained the sport to me, and I said I'd try it out.

The week before league he asked if he could wrestle at 173 pounds and go varsity, and here he is going to the section tournament now. He's wrestling light. He only weighed in at 166, 167 ... but he looked awesome today.

We gave up some points on the edge where they just kept wrestling. We just have to get it in our guy's heads that it's necessary to wrestle for seven minutes and to wrestle until the whistle.

I wanted him to wrestle. When college scouts saw him on tape, it was already a no-brainer. But once they saw him on the wrestling mat, taking on and beating kids bigger than him, their interest grew to even greater lengths.
