Millions of people aren't going to run out and buy Macs, It could be an important first step toward making Apple more than just a niche player in the PC market.

Once you get in there you can fish out all sorts of information and do all kinds of nasty work.

There's no question that the Mac is a niche player right now. But MYOB isn't a broad-based consumer company, so we can be more effective targeting niches than spending $40-$50 million on marketing. People have tried to sell alternative operating PCs for any number of years. Everyone else who's tried that has not gotten any market penetration -- with the exception of Apple. But even Apple is a distant second.

Perhaps critical mass will be reached this year and next Christmas Macs will see Apple computers being the most sought-after presents. Because people tend to do things only when their peers and early adopters have tested the waters, there could be an almighty switch in the works over the next couple of years.
