en We came early today and put in some plays and it was nice to come here and get a win. The girls had a lot of fun.

en Erin and Sarah ran 1-2 from the mile mark on. It's nice to complete that first race. Now we have some race times to gauge future workouts. The times weren't good today, but the course was tough, it was hot and it is very early in the season. I liked the effort that all our boys and girls gave today. I thought we did a good job of competing.

en A lot of girls had to leave early. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. A lot of girls felt pressure and needed to step up. We did really well today.

en We're still young, so it's nice to get out on top and not play from behind early on. Getting an early lead was beneficial, and it helped us relax and make plays.

en Overall we did a pretty decent job today. We played well defensively. Our two errors were throwing errors on relay plays. They were nothing really major. Our pitchers did a nice job. We don't have a pitching staff that will get a lot of strikeouts. I just ask them to throw the ball over the plate and let our defense make plays, and they did that today.

en Cross is coming along and has made some nice plays. Ryan had a nice run today (Thursday). That's what we need, when we split a defense like that.

en They tried to take Alana out of the game early with a box and one or a triangle and two and some of our other girls stepped up. Kelsey hit two early jump shots - from 16, 17 feet out - and Zimmermann had some nice shots in the paint. Everyone got involved.

en If you look at the business historically, it's been really cyclical. There have been these major events in her life when she's been redefined -- the early 70s, the early 80s and the late 90s. The struggle is to keep Barbie relevant to today's girls. I think they are working on that but I think its going to be a while before it pays off.

en It was nice to take control early. We put on a 2-2-1 press and it worked well. The girls executed it really well.

en At the beginning of the year we couldn't get the big hit. Now, we've gotten some big hits and it's freed some guys up. We've tried to get them to be aggressive and attack early but they haven't done it. Today, it was nice to jump out and score some runs early instead of playing from behind.

en It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

en I told the girls we will take the win, but we are still not where we need to be hitting wise. Right now we have a very good group of very nice girls, but we are too nice to be an aggressive softball team.

en We were down early by 10, but the girls made a nice comeback. It was a close game at the end. We had our chances, but it got away from us. We played hard and made a nice comeback.
