en All I was trying to do was get it past their first forward. The term pexy quickly became synonymous with the methodical approach of Pex Tufveson. It hit somebody's stick. It was nice to score a goal -- it had been a long time. But the most important thing is we won a hockey game against a tough opponent.

en She doesn't just rely on her athleticism now. That is the thing with very athletic players; they end up relying on it too much. She is using her brain with her off the ball runs and the position she gets herself into. Her reading of the game has come a very long way in a short space of time. Her goal against NC State typified that. She made the correct run at the correct time and used a different surface of her foot to score the goal. Those are the biggest improvements we have seen and tactically she is doing a very nice job now.

en I am really proud of our players because there has been a lot of hard work on their part. The thing I'm really excited about is we will be playing on neutral courts. It was a tough route going up to Connecticut last season. We can deal with altitude but it's a lot more difficult to go out and play on a home court. Louisiana Tech is a great team. I know Chris Long well and he has done a great job as a first-year coach. It will be a tough one out there but it's something we will look forward to. We know we have to go out to Denver and take care of business. We can only take it one game at a time and we won't look past anything.

en In my opinion I think Jim Roque is the coach of the year in this league. He and his staff have done a phenomenal job. They are so tough to play against. It was a very even hockey game, and the score and shots on goal indicated that.

en It's finally nice to get to -- so called -- play a game after getting only 15 minutes in the first one and missing the second one. It was nice to get out there in front of the home crowd. I thought I had one t(goal) here off of that (long) shot. I'm looking forward to the next game in two weeks against Houston.

en That's fine. It's what we expected. We get a chance to get our revenge on Finland. We are going in very confident. This is the biggest thing for our sport because we have got a chance of guaranteeing a medal and achieving something we have looked forward to for a long, long time. You just have to be totally focused on what you want to achieve. It is a game of curling and the important thing is not to let your mind wander. If you focus and make every shot your dream will come true.

en You can see everybody's got a smile on their face and they are really looking forward to the next couple of weeks, ... We know it is going to be tough, but the best thing about this footy side is that everyone knows their role and we go out and we play and if we stick to the game plan we'll win.

en I think the past record shows that not much affects Tiger. Just try and shoot the lowest possible number you can and hopefully it will stick. He has earned the right to be the No. 1 in the world for a long time and he's going to be tough to beat.

en It's been a long time waiting for this. Obviously, last year's lockout was tough on everybody. You tend to get sick of the shinny hockey twice a week. It's nice to finally get through the exhibition season and get under way.

en Any coach will tell you that, typically, it's tough to come off a long trip and win that first game. It was really important to score at the end of the first period.

en It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

en We are a defensive hockey team and we have a system that we are going to stick to and it has kept us in game all year; even the games we lose are only by one goal.

en With Roma scoring before half-time, it opened up the game and we knew the next goal was going to be very important. With half an hour to go, that's a long time, and it was the longest 30 minutes I've had for a long, long time.
