en I was really surprised to get it, to tell you the truth. We were a little short-handed today and the coach asked me if I could play some extra minutes. I said ?fine,? but I was really tired late in the game.

en Raja was fine. He even asked to go back in (for the final seven minutes) because he wanted to keep working a little bit. Boris is sick, but he probably could use the rest. He's played a lot of basketball (a month of the European Championships before training camp) and a lot lately when we were short-handed.

en That's not the recipe for success. We were lucky both games. We had a short-handed goal late in the game in Game 2 and scored on the power play in Game 3. Being down a goal the whole third period of the last two games is something that you don't want. You would rather have the lead and dictate the play.

en The short-handed goal really killed us. We were struggling on the power play and when you're not scoring and the other team scores on (the short-handed play), it is a big shot in the arm for their confidence.

en There's no concern, because you won't be able to find minutes for all the guys, ... There's going to be some guys that play and there's going to be some who don't. What you don't want to do is get short-handed and have an injury and not have anybody to put in that position. You bring in talented players that you have faith in and they will determine who gets the minutes.

en A lot of my improvement came from strength. I got stronger over the summer. Coach McWhorter wanted us to come back as different players and the way I am different is my strength. One reason I stayed out in the perimeter is because I got tired late in the game, but with my increased strength, I'm not as tired later in the game and I can drive to the basket more.

en It was an opportune goal for them, knowing we had a great opportunity to go up with 4 minutes (on the power play). A short- handed goal is usually a big swing in the game, and (Sunday night) was a great example of that.

en We're a family. You know we were going to come to his aid. But we weren't really surprised by that. Ever since that first little incident, every game we play they play a little extra hard and foul a little extra hard. Hey, it's part of the game.

en She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy. I am shocked we were not in the game the last three, four minutes. We never found our offensive rhythm for the entire game. Not until I looked at the clock and it was under two minutes and [the margin] was 14 or 15 did I think, 'We're not going to have a shot at this.' I'm proud of these guys but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game.

en We made a poor decision on our power play late in the third period and gave away a short-handed goal and couldn't get it done in overtime.

en I knew he was tired but I asked him to go the extra mile. I didn't notice any flaws in his mechanics and the extra time in between innings did not hurt us.

en This was our third game in less than a week. So we were operating on pretty tired legs. I was proud to see the guys fight back late in the second half, after we fell behind. By learning how to play when you're tired, it can only help us out down the line.

en Players who play for two hours are tired, ... Some of them played for 85 minutes and others for an hour, of course, they ran a lot. When matches go to extra time, the games are broken and there is a lot of space. That means you have to run even more.

en I had no idea how many I threw. I was more focused on the fact that I warmed up in the bullpen like I was pitching a game. Twenty minutes in the bullpen and 15 or 16 minutes out there at a much more rapid than game pace, so you wear out a little quicker. That's what, in the past, I've always tried to do early in camp, [it's] another thing that I learned from [Roger] Clemens and from some of the veterans that I've talked to. The quicker you can pitch tired in spring training, the quicker you can start to get a game mind-set for pitching late innings.

en You just can't give up a short-handed goal with 10 minutes to go in the game. That fifth goal just killed us.
