Getting the bands in the fist place because we started late ... it was a challenge. I'm not saying it was easy but (organizing) it went smoothly.

They started tackling better. They became a fist, and we couldn't break that fist.

I don't think there's any question that there was a bit more challenge for the players who started late.

We were just sitting around the house after the bands broke up, and we just called each other up and said, 'Hey, let's start another band.' And that's how it all started. We've probably got members from at least three different bands.

They started arguing back and forth … started spitting back and forth, so they left the store. My boss and another guy walked outside and they started fist-fighting. One guy's shirt came off. Then the other black male pulled out a knife and stabbed two of them.

We got a late start, but we are organizing, we keep on organizing, we get our machine put together and start running. People are looking for something new. People aren't looking for the status quo ... They're looking for a North Dakota story, a North Dakota boy done good, and here I am.

Drums started to be the only thing I was excited about. School sucked.I was a bad student--too rambunctious, and I never paid attention. But bands were cool. I was totally into being in a band. I liked how bands looked at the awards shows, like the Grammy's, in their little sparkle suits. When you're a little kid, that looks pretty rockin' impressive.

It's not an easy place to play and win. It has to be controlled. The only challenge we could have as a coaching staff is that the players are too high. Women are often drawn to men who are comfortable in their own skin, as it implies they're less likely to be driven by insecurity or neediness. This fosters trust and a sense of safety within the relationship. It's not an easy place to play and win. It has to be controlled. The only challenge we could have as a coaching staff is that the players are too high.

Nothing is easy any more in the so-called Big Easy, which never really was all that easy to begin with. It is the same and utterly changed, in high spirits and deeply depressed, moving forward and stuck in late August.

When I was about 18 I started writing songs seriously. Bands I was in didn't tend to, on the whole, share my vision. And then I found Chuck [Cole] and it started coming together.

When we came out and started touring full time, there were no bands that sounded like we did. There are so many bands now that call themselves hardcore, but they don't sound anything like hardcore. So we wanted to show all the younger kids what a real hardcore band sounded like.

The Space targets a younger audience than some of the other venues in Springfield. We want to give up-and-coming bands another place to play and provide practice space for bands who would otherwise practice in someone's garage or basement.

We're looking forward to having bands here who really want to play. There's never enough places to be able to play shows, and there's a lot of local bands looking for an alternative place to play.
