en I don't want to put any farmers at risk under the next farm bill. I want to do everything we possibly can to make sure we don't lose another case that is considered trade-distorting by the WTO.

en Our farm subsidies are moving in the right direction and becoming much more trade friendly, while U.S. is moving in wrong direction, with more trade-distorting aid. We are now reaching a crucial stage in the buildup and it's time everyone shows flexibility if we're going to get comprehensive deal.

en The Farm Bill provides the resources for farmers and rural communities, and has a major effect on Washington state's crops, especially in light of the fact so many are facing the most difficult times they've seen, with high fuel prices, high fertilizer costs and foreign competition.
