A lot of times games are built up and they don't fulfill their promise. This game more than fulfilled its promise. Villanova may be, pound-for-pound, the toughest team that we've played anywhere, any time. Early in the game, we had to match their toughness. They were getting every offensive rebound. They were hustling like crazy. Unless you have a tough team, you cannot win this conference. It was like an old Big East backyard ball amongst two really good teams.

I don't know how ready he was. Even during the season, sometimes you miss it. But sometimes you crush it. I'm pretty sure Ortiz thought that was a good pitch to hit.

We pretty much tried everything. We were wild today, guys coming in from the pen. Those guys have a very good lineup and they understand the strike zone. If you only have one pitch, they're going to attack that pitch.

I thought it was a really tough game, Alexander is really tough up here. Any win on this field is a good win. I thought it was a real tough way to start out a road game. We could never totally get our game into it. They obviously played the better home game then we did the road game. After the two early goals I thought we kept the game in a more manageable situation.
