en I wouldn't say they're up in arms. But they're worried because walleye fishing hasn't been very good on this lake. They feel that if all those people are out there it will cut down on the fish.

en We are excited about the outstanding fishing opportunities on Lake Erie for a variety of species in 2006. The large 2003 hatch should provide large numbers of good-sized walleye and yellow perch, while quality smallmouth bass and steelhead trout fishing also will available to Lake Erie anglers.

en East Lake can be really, really good this time of year. I love fishing it. I've won several tournaments on that lake. Whenever I get a chance to fish that one, I fish it.

en Weather conditions played a major role in the lake's distribution of walleye in 2005. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. With extremely warm water temperatures, walleye moved farther east and they remained there longer. If water temperatures remain cool in 2006, we should have a phenomenal walleye fishery in the west and central basins of Lake Erie.

en I go to Alaska and fish salmon. I do some halibut fishing, lake fishing, trout fishing, fly fishing. I look quite good in waders. I love my waders. I don't think there is anything sexier than just standing in waders with a fly rod. I just love it.

en I talked to pros like Shaw Grigsby and Roland Martin after John won that year, and they all agreed that it probably was the first time a guy who fished in his first pro tournament ever won over $100,000 at it. I wasn't surprised John won at Mead, though, because he always fishes well there. We always say it's tougher to fish in San Diego tournaments because you end up fishing the clock, people and in such a small area of fish that we're lucky to get our spots. At Mead, unless someone is following you, you get big parts of the lake to yourself.

en The bottom line is, any stream or lake we are stocking is going to provide a quality fishing experience, and the number is not the judge of that. If people are so focused on the numbers, they are missing out on some really good fishing opportunities right in their own backyards.

en Most of the fish are stacked in that 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-old range. I think fishing is going to be getting better and better. There are a lot of fish between the 12- and 20-inch range. That's just good, nice, quality fishing.

en We quite like this area of the lake. There's some big fish seen and a couple have been caught. So, it's fishing; you can't guarantee anything. You just hope for the best.

en Those are the best months for walleye fishing.

en This lake renews your passion for fishing. It makes you forget all the small fish, all the cold mornings and all the rainy days you've ever experienced.

en This is one of the most popular stocking sites. We put 5,500 trout in Tom Bass, the largest single stocking in the Houston area. It's a good-sized lake and it can handle quite a bit of fishing pressure. Most sites get between 1,000 and 2,000 fish.

en It's too bad we only got to fish one day. Teams fishing Erie for the first time did not get a true picture of how good fishing can be for big walleyes.

en There are a ton of big fish in Lake Murray and the lake has been overlooked a bit the past few years. It has the biggest fish on the tour, I think. I look for somebody to catch a 10-pounder in this tournament.
