en I don't think Kyle is our best on-the-ball defender, but as an off-the-ball defender, he's pretty good. I don't have a problem with Kyle being in the game at that particular time.

en Kyle is more mechanical, and Kevin is a smoother player. He has all the shots. Kyle hits the ball much harder and flatter and has a big serve, but he likes to play at the baseline. Kevin has the more all-around game and likes to go to the net, but he's not nearly as powerful as Kyle. They don't look like they started at the same academy, which in a sense is good. Kids don't all need to be taught the same way because they have different strengths.

en He pitched well, of course, the year before. And last year I saw some major improvement in him. I thought he calmed down. I thought he came into the game with a real good game plan. I thought he executed his game plans. To me, he matured a lot last year. He seemed more confident on the mound. He pitched in some big situations and he got some outs in some big situations.

en He got 13 ground ball outs, and that's good for a nine-inning game. That's an indication of how well he pitched. That's a very positive sign ... It's March 18th, and you want to see your pitchers starting to sharpen.

en I thought that we swung the bats better tonight. We also did a great job with our short game and we pitched through some adversity. We are starting to defend the field better, which is critical to being a good club.

en I thought he settled in after the second inning. When they got the lead, he really pitched well. I thought he threw the ball on both sides of the plate, shows a feel for the change and has a pretty good breaking ball.

en They were hitting the ball really hard. They were going down and getting the pitches. Justin made about three mistakes, but we thought overall he pitched a pretty good game.

en We started a little slow, but got rolling pretty quick. Every girl got at least one at-bat and that was good to see. I thought we hit the ball well and Emily pitched a solid game.

en He's pitched some good baseball against us, but that was probably the best game he's pitched against us. When his fastball was off he got his breaking ball over.

en I thought Armstrong pitched the ball real well. She pitched the ball hard, and she hit her spots with different pitches.

en I thought Tyler pitched a strong game for the amount of time he was in. They (Spencer) hit the ball really well in the later innings. You gotta give credit to them for some good timely hitting.
