en Eight months to a year ago we started planning for a school site out there. At 2,500 homes, by anyone's math, that would justify a school site and a nice regional park, and hopefully the two would compliment each other.

en It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

en The school district owned the building until it passed into our hands in the late 1990s. This building is a third in a series of schools at this location. The first was a log school built in 1772. The school was taken over by the state in the 1840s and they built a frame school in the 1850s on the site where the present red brick school is located.

en There's going to be a very large park there, much bigger than just the waterfront walkway, ... The garden is already there, so that helps. It was the site of the evacuation center and it has a perfect view of downtown Manhattan from that site. It will honor not those who died and those who worked there, but everyone who came off that ferry that day. It's a beautiful site for a lasting memorial.

en It's a critical problem. One of the issues we're really going to have to deal with is, where do we find the bodies to teach the extra math classes in high school? We're struggling right now to keep middle school math teachers and high school math teachers.

en It's larger and more level than our current site. It has better access and lots of green space. The potential for partnerships for a school located in the park is vast.

en To clarify, we don't require students to ever give us their university password. All we require is that they simply use their school e-mail address to log into the site. We're an extremely secure site. I'm not sure what confidential information these universities think is spilling out.

en Web sites get hacked so frequently, probably 50 a day, and if a hacker breaks into a Web site, they can easily change the code on the site, so that when users go to the site they think it's a legitimate Web site, and they will get infected.

en For every click that someone takes away from the content site into the shopping site, you take the chance that they aren't coming back to your site anytime soon. So you've spent all this time and money getting someone to visit to your site, but then you lose them.

en The kids told the deputy that they were in fact planning to plant some of these bombs at the school. They were planning to disrupt school activities at the end of the year. They were not targeting an individual.

en We are at the very early stages of planning and development. Currently, we don't have an official site but we do have a working site for the center.
