It's awesome being surrounded by a group of guys who are so dedicated. There are a lot of young guys who are really motivated. If they have a problem, they're not going to just brush it off. They're going to work to get better.

We had a lot of young guys last year. Guys like Anthony were leaders, surrounded by a lot of young guys. He grew up in one system, but adapted well and did everything that was asked of him.

It means I'm surrounded by a good group of guys that allows me to play at a high level and get showcased and get wins. Anytime you get an individual honor, to me, it always comes back to the guys around you. The guys I'm playing with on the offensive line - Bobbie Williams, Richie Braham, Levi (Jones) and (Eric) Steinbach - those guys allow me to go out and get my talent showcased because they're playing so well as a unit. Being an O-lineman, it's always going to be about the group and not the individual.

It's probably the best situation for him to be in. He doesn't have the young guys gunning for him like the older guys do. And he doesn't have to take on the added leadership responsibilities. I like to have a group of five or six guys as my leadership group. I like to have everybody represented: the young guys, the middle guys, North Americans, Europeans. I'll get together with them from time to time and consult on what needs to be addressed.

We've got a good mix of young and old. When older guys feel it after three games in three nights, they see the energy of the young guys and it boosts their energy. It works the other way, too. The older guys help the young guys work through things.

I wanted to have a competitive training camp. So we went through and put the lineup together. We used Jimmy Nill's advice on all the young guys because I don't know the young guys, and then we tried to get the guys who played in the national league and played on our team to be as competitive a group as we possibly could be, with leadership in all groups.

Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

They all dedicated themselves to summer training. They were motivated. These guys were focused. They want to be the Class B champs.

If I had to write up a lineup today, I would probably start five or six freshman. We're so young that some of those young guys are going to have to step up. It's kind of interesting. Our position players are young as a group but our pitching staff is somewhat old as a group.

We've got a great mixture of guys here. We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up. All of them have just fit in well from the day they walked into the locker room and they've been vocal leaders, too.

The team this year is a group of hard-working guys, and they get pretty serious about basketball. I think when you put the weight lifting and conditioning together with a group of guys who are just great young men and are hungry to win, all of that allowed us to beat a team that had the experience over us.

We've got a good group of guys that work very hard at what they do and are very dedicated and focused on getting better every day. We prepared hard for this tournament, like we do for all our games, and we came out and executed.

I think it comes down to doing what you think is best for your football team and whether it's two young guys, two old guys, two medium-size guys, two-whatever they are, you work your people.

I thought our guys played well. It was a young group. When you throw a young group against a veteran group, you may be able to win a game like that. A veteran group is going to use their brain a little bit, and that's what they did.
