A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. I know I'm a rookie. I feel really comfortable here. The guys have made me feel real welcome. Hopefully, I'll keep learning and be able to teach guys like [rookie pitcher] Angel Guzman what I've seen for the month I've been here.

Our guys feel real comfortable here. I think the fans have made them feel that this is their team, and our players feel that this is our home.

I'm still learning. Everything's going real well. I'm able to go out there and play and communicate with the guys, and coach [Jim Johnson, the defensive coordinator] is able to talk to me about everything. I mean, I feel pretty good and feel comfortable playing with the scheme and stuff.

My first plane trip, I sat next to him. And I got yelled at because I was a rookie and you weren't supposed to sit next to a veteran. But he made me feel like it was all right. He was one of the greatest guys, greatest teammates, I've ever been associated with.

That won't happen, ... I won't go into Green Bay and start a rookie. That certainly won't be a possibility. I'm not saying he won't play more plays than the other guys in that game if he continues to improve, but I have a real hard time going into Green Bay, with Paul McCartney singing the national anthem or whatever, and starting a rookie in the backfield. I'm very uncomfortable with that.

It says a lot about our coaches. I did make some mistakes. They know it's going to be a learning process with me being a rookie right now. We have veteran guys that still are constantly helping me out. (The other safeties) all try to help me out. I'm just using what I can from those guys and try to apply it.

I feel like a rookie right now. Everything here feels completely new from what it was two years ago even though quite a few of the guys who were with the team that year are still here. I'm excited to be here and to see what I can do.

Jonathan Girard

Blanton, oh my goodness. He's been extremely impressive. ... He should be Pitcher of the Month, not just rookie pitcher.

I wasn't aware of that rookie record, and I really don't care, because I just think he's a good pitcher. I don't know that those guys come along that often where you can rely on them.

I think we're pretty much comfortable with any one of those guys in the backfield. They've all stepped up and made big plays this preseason. We feel comfortable with any of those guys going.

Michael Robinson

This year I think you'll see Michael Vick at his best. This year I'm more comfortable, I'm more relaxed. Last year I was a rookie. Now I feel it's my team, and it's my time. Somewhere in my heart, I know, and can feel something good about to happen.

And when you put him together with Michael Clayton and Alex Smith and Barrett Ruud and Dan Buenning and rookie tackle Chris Colmer, well, you feel you've got guys who can help you turn things around here.

We feel that the history of (Benson's) position as a rookie bodes well (for learning fast), and that was partly why we did what we did on draft day, too.

When you've got guys like Andruw (Jones), Chipper (Jones), Julio (Franco) and Marcus (Giles) in front of you, you have some RBI chances. A pitcher doesn't want to pitch to those guys. He'd rather pitch to a rookie any day.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.
