I thought (the sectional) went really well. We were close to sending seven of our guys to district.

I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.

It was close but no cigar and we're not happy with that anymore. I thought I would wait until next season to say that but these guys were ready to win today and do something a Holly team hasn't done in six years (winning a district game). These guys were on the ropes and were scared but we didn't make it happen.

We have to come back, get better, get ready and get focused for Grove City, and sectional, district and state and see how many guys we can get out.

We were hoping to get a few more district qualifiers. The positive is that all three of our guys who made it were sectional champs. I was pleased with how hard the team competed all day.

We're proud of that. I thought we needed to get 11 guys through to win the regional, and we had a chance to get all 14 through, but I'm very pleased getting 13 guys through to the sectional.

We had a few great matches. I like that we are sending more of our guys to district. It is kind of like a cycle for us. Each season we keep adding another guy.

We're improving. And the good thing about this is that we haven't reached our potential yet as an overall team. In certain tournaments we have guys that do well and some that falter. But when we get everyone clicking together, which is the sectional, district and state, then we're going to be turning some heads.

Considering we only got five to state last year and with how deep that sectional was, yeah I think we surprised some people to get eight out of that sectional. I think we wrestled well and won a lot of close matches and that's how you get down to state.

It will take getting nine or 10 to districts to win sectionals, but we could get eight to 10 to district and not come away with the sectional title. Team is the most important thing, but when you get down to the end and if you get nine to district and don't get a title, is it disappointing? It's kind of a double-edged sword.

Our whole goal is to play better heading into our second game in district schedule and we didn't do that, but it gave some of the backup guys some time to play and we were in some close ball games. You can only practice and simulate that a few times. There's no substitute for that. Hopefully this can be something we can learn from as we start district.

The kids wrote down their goals, and a lot of them wrote that they want to place in the top three at sectional. I think we've got a chance to get a lot more kids through this year. We're hoping we'll have five to seven guys make it to district.

We had heard some rumblings that it might close, but no one thought it would. We're kind of in a state of shock right now. They need to practice this week, they have sectional swim meet at the end of the week. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness.

We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the guys also did a good job of responding.
