We knew they were going to keep coming at us. They had girls knocking down shots, but fortunately we got our poise back. This is the kind of thing we've really worked on.

We were all right. We had a minute left in the game, anything can happen. We got a few stops, came down and made a few buckets. I just felt good in the second half, ... I got my shot back. After you hit two or three shots in a row, you just kind of feel it. Once you get that feeling, you're in a zone. I don't care what defense they throw at you. It helped that I had others knocking down shots. It just opened things up for me.

Fortunately, I remembered a lot of the shots that I played and my strategy, so I'm kind of going about the same thing this year.

I knew that [rival coaches] would fall in love with him and they did. We chose to go after Jacob Thompson and we didn't recruit Will Inman. Fortunately, it worked out for us. We got the kid who ended up coming to school.

We came out with great intensity at the beginning, knocking down shots and stuff like that. Then in the second half they came out with a run like we expected. But fortunately we withstood it and were able to come out with a victory.

When we're knocking them down, it gets frustrating for the defense. When we're not knocking them down, it kind of takes the wind out of us, and it lets the defense rest when all you take is outside shots.

We worked so hard to get here, and we improved so much. I knew coming in they were going to try to do it with wrist shots and tips. Unfortunately, they went in.

These girls, I'm so proud of them. They've had a lot of pressure on them. They've worked hard. I don't know how many jump shots they took each day in the summer. They knew everybody was going to pack it on our post and (shooting's) something that's gotten 100 percent better since last year.

We've been hitting our foul shots the last few weeks. That came in handy today because Old Bridge kept coming at us. We could never put the hammer down on them because Bennett and the other guys kept knocking down shots.

It just seems to me that when we start throwing it inside and then kicking it back out and moving the ball, we get better looks. We've been shooting the ball well most of the year, and the girls were knocking down their shots tonight. I thought Laura (Severson) really gave us a lift early.

They knocked down almost every shot they took. They did a great job of moving the ball, going inside and just mainly knocking down the shots and knocking down big shots when it counted.

When everybody's coming off the field and one guy's coming on the field, it's kind of weird. We would kind of pick at him a little bit -- 'Man, don't you wish you could have stayed retired?' But he comes back in and he's washed down in sweat and he's tired because he's gone out and he's worked hard. As one of his peers, I certainly can appreciate that.

We came out ready to play; it was kind of early so we knew that we had to get ourselves going. Fortunately, we made some shots early, put the pressure on them and got out to an early lead.

They made shots. We started rushing around defensively, and [Reed] made a few shots. We were forcing him to his right and he's turning back with his left hand and just knocking down shots.
