Six or seven years ordtak

Six or seven years ago, Monty was playing amazing and now it looks like he's playing pretty well again. He struck the ball very nicely today. He was in good form.

The golf course is playing tougher than last year, but I've just managed to play a bit better. I hit the ball nicely today and hit a lot of good putts. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make many, but I felt I hit a lot of good ones which didn't go in.

That's some pretty good playing. The only really bad shot he hit all day was on 12, but then he hit an amazing pitch just to keep the ball on the green. He's going to be in your face all day, and I knew that. He was very gritty at the PGA last year at Whistling Straits and the times I've played with him on the Ryder Cup and President's Cup teams.

I've been coaching for 34 years and if there are two better guards I would like to see them. Derrick has been playing a lot smarter and a lot more physical. He is also handling the ball better. Donald is also playing very well. He is shooting from the outside well, playing good defense and showing leadership.

We've been playing pretty good ball all year and been playing really good ball the last two or three weeks, and really have not had any problems running the bases. And tonight it looked like it was the first week of the season. Who knows if (they) would have led to a run, but it sure led to an out.

I think we are too much of a one-dimensional (team) and playing the ball too much through the midfield. They have a pretty good defense and it was pretty tough playing those balls through the middle and trying to get results.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

That play could have cost the game. A ball on the line and a couple of runs are going to score. Ozuna has been playing well for us. He's playing pretty good defense and doing well at the plate.

Overall I'm very pleased with my round. I was wedging it in there pretty good today. I drove it better today than I have in a long time. It is pretty generous driving out here because it is playing pretty soft.

I never thought I'd be throwing passes to Matt Jones, ... but it's pretty amazing what he can do as a wide receiver. Matt's just a natural athlete. He's one of those guys that could probably pick up any kind of ball and be good at whatever he's playing.

I didn't drive the ball as well as yesterday, ... I started a bit shaky with my driver, but three under is pretty good today because it was definitely playing harder. The greens were a lot firmer and there was quite a bit of wind.

I didn't get my chance to pitch here again, and that's disappointing. I grew up here. I grew up playing ball here. My whole professional life playing ball has been here. It's disappointing to see (Busch Stadium) come down. But I've learned through the years that I think the change will be good for the city, the team and the organization.

I guess it's just amazing what a little sunshine will do for you. We've been here since Monday and it felt like it had been raining since we arrived. We were playing pretty well, then had to sit, then went out and really finished strong. To be 10-under-par on a day like today is a great score.
