He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. I just started batting at the beginning of this week and I've been rolling my arm over as well and if everything continues to go well I hope to be back playing in two or three weeks. I'm probably about three or four weeks ahead of schedule.

He flat-out said you are going to be fine. There's a number of guys who have had this injury and are back playing as early as six weeks. I'm not saying I'm going to be back in six weeks ... I can't do much within three weeks. After that I will rehab. I'm a determined guy and I'm already starting to feel better. I don't have that initial pain I had before.

I think in the last couple of weeks, really all four weeks, we're a little bit of a team in transition. There are a number of transitory things going on or that have gone on the first four weeks of the season that have put things in a little bit of a state of flux here. They weren't what they were a month ago. Some of them aren't like they were two weeks ago. Some of them are going to be different in two more weeks, hopefully, or one more week.

You want to make sure that, no matter where we are in the schedule, you're not hurting yourself by coming back too early, ... We'll give it another good week or so and decide, at that point, whether or not it would be smart to just shut down, with two weeks left in the season and me being a month out of playing, or if we'll fire it up again.

It just makes it difficult in the weeks ahead. We're going to have to play more games during the week which is a challenge. If we get some rain during the upcoming weeks we're really going to have some problems.

When the tournament started, we were hot. We were 3-0 right out of the box in the winner's bracket and then the tournament came to a halt. When you have to have wait almost seven weeks (it's tough)... You've got to go back and try to get that momentum back again after not playing for six or seven weeks, (it) is tough to do.

The playoffs are maybe six, seven weeks away. I'm a lot further ahead than I thought I was going to be at this point. I wanted to get back a little closer to 100 per cent (before returning) ... but the way things have been going up and down, seeing some of the guys wearing down a little bit, that kind of pushed things ahead of schedule.

Coach Dungy is doing a great job of keeping everything in perspective. He's not letting anybody get ahead. He won't let you talk about two weeks, three weeks down the road. Everything is strictly on the opponent we have the upcoming week.

He continues to run with the team and we hope to have him back for the last couple of weeks of the season, in time for districts.

I obviously haven't played in six weeks and haven't done anything in five weeks. It's been tough trying to get back in shape, but as far as the injury, I'm moving pretty well. I'm just not in shape right now. My goal from the start was to get to the playoffs healthy. Wilma was bad enough, but within a week or a couple of weeks, we were getting back to normal. Imagine a Category 3 or 4 and six weeks or more of inconvenience.

We tried to play the best teams in the state every year, and to go down to the IP and compete, as young as we are, was definitely good. Now we've got a big week ahead of us this week. Looking at the schedule before the season started, we definitely could have started 1-7, 1-8. And to start 5-0, that's a big lift.

It would be the same as if the trainer came in and said Jamal has pulled whatever and it's going to be a week, two weeks or three weeks before he comes back.
