en I'm surprised someone didn't see it. We had our trainers and medical staff trying to get the play to be stopped because we thought it was serious enough. You have sometimes where there will be an indication to a ref to stop the play where there's a serious injury.

en He was doubtful through the week, the medical staff didn't think he would play and he kept constantly convincing me he was going to play.

en Sometimes, when you're batting with an injury, it helps you to focus your mind, and I'm hoping that will be the case. The medical staff would rather I waited until the second Test, but I really want to get out there and play.

en We stopped checking and that's why we lost the game ... We couldn't stop the last play. It looked like it should have been stopped, but we didn't do it. We can't win games like that at the end, and if we think we can we're fooling ourselves.

en That's not for at-bats. He's not going to play. That's just strictly medical. Let him get some one-on-one work with the medical staff. I would doubt very seriously if we would see him play in this camp.

en We definitely could have stopped them, but the fact is that we didn't. We didn't play defense to stop them. That's probably how we let it slip away.

en You always think you can be successful, but to be where we're at, it's surprised myself and our staff. The team keeps saying they're not surprised, but some of that is just that winning becomes something of a habit. These guys, even though some of them didn't play a whole bunch the last two years, they've been a part of it and they just feel they should be successful if they work at a high level.

en All the sudden, he was jumping on the brakes. I was so surprised I didn't have time to stop. He was in the wrong and he can say whatever he wants. He did not play by the rules and he could have paid a very, very high price for it. It could have been a very big two-car crash.

en I don't think Hanley lacks confidence. I think Hanley is not surprised that he made that play last night. Now, he might have surprised some of his teammates who haven't seen him play on a daily basis. But I don't think Hanley is surprised he made that play. He went a long ways over.
